March Madness grows to 76 teams

The NCAA approved 76-team fields for both Division I tournaments beginning in 2027, adding eight teams to each bracket. The familiar 64-team first round remains; the expanded opening round determines its final entrants. This is a confirmed format change, not a prediction of which schools will qualify.
